NASCAR Power Couple Danica Patrick, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. Announce Breakup

He said after the press conference that he supported Patrick's decision to step away from racing.

Danica Patrick's relationship with Ricky Stenhouse Jr. has officially run out of gas.

Both struggled to find success on track, going winless through their first four seasons. Patrick was a prominent part of victory lane.

Patrick fooled fans on April 1 by posting an Instagram that made it seem like the longtime couple had finally gotten engaged, but it turns out it was only an April Fool's gag.

Danica Patrick and Ricky Stenhouse Jr. have split after dating for about five years, having started seeing each other shortly before they entered their NASCAR Cup Series rookie seasons in 2013. The Nov. 19 finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway was her last driving the No. 10 Ford for Stewart-Haas Racing and it ended early with a crash.

Stenhouse said after that press conference that he supported Patrick in her decision and that he was certain she would succeed in whatever endeavors she pursues post-racing.

Patrick has a new book coming out later this month titled, "Pretty Intense: The 90-Day Mind, Body and Food Plan that will Absolutely Change Your Life".

The 35-year-old driver hasn't commented publicly about the breakup with Stenhouse, 30.
