Estranged husband kills wife, self at Penn State satellite campus


Our Hearst sister station, WTAE, is reporting that an employee at the campus was shot and killed around 4:00 her estranged husband.

Two people were shot dead on the Pennsylvania State University Beaver campus in western Pennsylvania Wednesday afternoon, reports CBS Pittsburgh.

According to the tweet, officials said the situation was "contained".

Students were being asked to please avoid Student Union Building and Food Services area.

The victim told campus police that her ex-husband had been harassing her at work.

The school is on lockdown and activities have been canceled for the rest of the day. We're waiting for the coroner to arrive, but this is not an active shooter situation.

Fellow CNN affiliate KDKA-TV in Pittsburgh is reporting that at least two people were killed. He found the food services worker and her estranged husband dead beside her auto.

"There were multiple shots fired".

Penn State Beaver is a campus of Pennsylvania State University in Center Township. The school was founded in 1965 and has around 720 students enrolled in addition to 200 staff.
