Tottenham striker Kane to play in Real Madrid clash

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino is hopeful Harry Kane (pix) will be fit for Wednesday's Champions League clash with Real Madrid after he missed the 1-0 defeat at Manchester United.

Tottenham's main injury problem concerns top scorer Harry Kane who is a doubt for the clash with Madrid due to a hamstring strain, per Lyall Thomas at Sky Sports.

The Welshman memorably tore Inter Milan apart seven years ago on his way to stardom, culminating in a move to Tottenham's Group H rivals Madrid in 2013 for a then-record fee.

But Zidane does not believe Tottenham's formation will be a big factor in Wednesday's game, although he admires the work Pochettino is doing at the Premier League club. We must remember that we must play with freedom and enjoy the game, because if not this, it is hard to show your real quality. Tomorrow, we will do the same again.

"With the doctors and the player, we will take the best decision for everyone", Pochettino said when asked by reporters about Kane's mid-week return. "They are a club with a chance to do great things".

However, Kane is now injured and will possibly not feature in the return leg due to a hamstring injury when Spurs welcome Real Madrid at Wembley Stadium on Wednesday night. Sometimes, it is better to play them after a loss and sometimes they can be relaxed and confidenct. I genuinely expect it to be much closer than the reverse tie in terms of performance and result. This game will be nothing like the one in Girona.

"It may be possible but I don't want to say 100 per cent as we have one more day".

"We have to take the criticism at Real Madrid".

Madrid can book their place in the last-16 with a win in north-west London and they'll be looking to bounce back after a defeat on Sunday. It's a hostile atmosphere in Napoli and they have a great mentality, although City are unsafe on the counter-attack, so I'll go for a high-scoring draw.

A good moment to play Real Madrid: "I will let you know after the game".

They should still be way too good to worry about this team and I see nothing other than a comfortable home win.
