Tammy Abraham, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Joe Gomez receive senior England call-ups

Tammy Abraham, Joe Gomez and Ruben Loftus-Cheek have all been named in Gareth Southgate's latest England squad for the upcoming double-header against Brazil and Germany at Wembley.

Twenty-year-old Abraham, who is also eligible to play for Nigeria, has played for England at Under-21, U19 and U18 level and was part of the England U21 squad for the European Championship earlier this year, scoring once in the tournament against Germany.

Abraham is joined by fellow-Chelsea loanee and now England team-mate, 21-year-old midfielder Loftus-Cheek, who has made six league appearances for Crystal Palace this season.

"We want to play with wing-backs".

Having secured their place at Russian Federation 2018 last month, Southgate will begin attempts to form his 23-man squad for next summer with back-to-back friendlies as England's 2017 campaign concludes.

The Liverpool duo of Sturridge and Oxlade-Chamberlain have been left out, as has Manchester United centre-back Smalling.

Defender Gomez, who has rebounded well since returning from a 15-month layoff with a ligament injury in January, started seven league games for Liverpool this season.

" I don't know how you get in an England squad without getting in the Arsenal team".

Having already secured their qualification to the World Cup finals in Russian Federation next year, the Three Lions are scheduled to face Brazil and Germany in friendly fixtures over the upcoming global break.

"There is no question in our mind about Jack Wilshere's ability and football brain and personality, we just need to see him playing regular league football before we think it is right to put him back in", Southgate said.
