OnePlus 5 and 5T should, finally, get Android Oreo by next year

On November 16, OnePlus launched OnePlus 5T in New York City.

Our first recommendation is a case by OnePlus themselves. At launch, the OnePlus 5T will be available only in Midnight Black - which looks sleek and all - but can we please have more color alternatives soon, OnePlus?

It's quite a dramatic change over the OnePlus 5, but OnePlus has kept the changes to a minimum elsewhere, physically at least.

The phone offers the fingerprint sensor, which takes a selfie when pressed longer. Fans have started calling time on the brand, which has faced calls to "stop faking it" by rebranding old phones from its parent company.

The OnePlus 5T, like most of this year's Android flagships, packs Qualcomm's 10nm Snapdragon 835 CPU, which OnePlus has paired with a hefty 8GB RAM. It means that the OnePlus 5T will also get Oreo alongside. The new model doesn't support wireless charging either, it sticks only with the fast charging support.

The new OnePlus 5T comes with two rear cameras one comes with a 16 megapixel sensor and the other comes with a 20 megapixel sensor.

When the OnePlus 5 first came out, some users experienced an odd phenomenon with its display while scrolling.

The Samsung's Galaxy Note8 is not only the comany's best smartphone, it is also the most expensive one ever delivered by Samsung. Even the new dual camera (more on which later) is positioned identically, although the surrounding housing for it is now flared slightly and sticks out a fraction more. The secondary camera uses "Intelligent Pixel" technology that merges four pixels into one, reduces noise and enhances clarity in low-light environments.

It is being hailed as a "fit for low-light photography" camera.

Stereo speakers are slowly but surely making their way to the majority of Android flagships, so it would have been nice to see the OnePlus 5T include a pair.

"While [the EngineerMode app] can enable adb root, which provides privileges for adb commands, it will not let third-party apps access full root privileges", said OnePlus.

While the iPhone X's facial unlocking system takes 0.15 seconds to get cracking, the OnePlus 5T normally takes around 0.17 seconds to unlock through its rear fingerprint scanner. What Face Unlock is aiming for is speed, and it beats Face ID in that aspect. Talking further about the update, OnePlus has added DND User Interface, for more customisation of the feature.

Despite the increased screen over its predecessor's 5.5in display, OnePlus claims the new phone keeps a "form factor similar to that of the OnePlus 5".
