Moira: Overwatch's new hero has some intriguing abilities

Share

Announced at Blizzcon 2017 today, the next Overwatch map is modeled after a fictional Blizzard theme park (for a second I thought a real Blizzard theme park was coming) called Blizzard World.

Using her left hand, Moira expends biotic energy to heal allies in front of her. Moira is a support hero, offering both damaging and offensive options with her abilities, transitioning between two attack types: a yellow, healing attack, and a purple, damaging attack. Her right hand fires a long-range beam weapon that saps enemies' health, healing Moira and replenishing her biotic energy.

The official Overwatch website also lists her background story for those that are interested in it.

Moira, who is already recieving a mix of negative and positive feedback from "Overwatch" players and fans, is a Talon healer.

Fade is a fairly simple ability that sees Moira teleport a short distance.

Moira's biotic abilities enable her to contribute healing or damage in any crisis.

For anyone interested in her background, her full name is Moira O'Deorain, Age: 4 and her occupation is as a Geneticist. A trailer was also presented, showing off her abilities and playstyle. She is a genius and controversial geneticist that is now aligned with Talon; also, a formerly affiliated with Blackwatch. Instead of kickstarting her career, her paper seriously damaged her reputation. This time, she was invited to join the scientific collective that had founded the city of Oasis. Now freed from her constraints however, she's set to break out into the spotlight once and for all in the very near future...
