HTC U11 Users Will Receive Android 8.0 Oreo Update Starting Today


The beginning of Android Orea in Sony started with the X series, and other models are expected to get the update in forthcoming days.

HTC has announced it's now rolling out Android 8.0 Oreo to unlocked variants of its U11 flagship smartphone.

The confirmation of the rollout of the update came when VP for product management at HTC, Mo Versi tweeted stating that "OS update will be available for download" "starting on Monday". Owners of unlocked HTC U11 units will be notified about the availability of the update via a push notification which will provide them with the option of instantly triggering the installation or scheduling it to be performed overnight. Apart from this, users will get the goodness of Android Oreo. The company had rolled out the update in Taiwan a while ago, so the news was expected by all HTC users. Android Oreo is also set to bring access to a wide range of features including Notification Channels, Notification Dots, Autofill for passwords and Android Instant Apps. HTC has added the best-in-class cameras on the U11, and the phone also has the top-notch hardware. The implement took place when Japanese smartphone maker updates its Xperia XZ and the Xperia XZs to Android 8.0 Oreo earlier this week.
