HTC launches its first Android One device

It has opted for Super LCD 6 technology with protection on the front coming from Corning's Gorilla Glass 5 tech. It packs a 12 MP primary camera and a BoomSound speaker which the manufacturer says is an improvement on previous models.

HTC launched several new phones this week, including a revised version of its U11 flagship, the new U11 Life and a high-end U11 Plus. Citing sources familiar with HTC and Google have claimed that the new U11+ is indeed the "Muskie" device which was reported in June to be shelved. Even though there is a sudden surge in popularity, there have been many devices with dual cameras earlier, and many have actually been from HTC. The HTC U11 Life is backed up by 3GB and GB RAM coupled with 64 GB internal storage.

HTC has officially announced the expansion of its U11 smartphone lineup. The firm hit a very hard patch after its glory days in the early 2010s, but it can now take pride in a comprehensive, high-quality mobile offering. This gives you a chance to buy an HTC phone without any of the company's own Android tweaks preinstalled. Bellow, we compare the two phones, to give you an idea of which one might be best suited for your needs.

HTC U11 has a very minimalistic Design with tiny bezels to make it feel small and compact in hands but it loses the tapered rounded edges of its predecessor making it feel a bit blocky and chunky. But while the HTC U11 Life does not include a 3.5mm headphone jack, the Moto X4 does.

Apart from the price and camera vague prediction, we can also state that the hardware configuration of the devices is going to be like a Christmas gift for fans in the first quarter of 2018. We will keep you updated if that plan changes, but for now HTC's official stance is it won't be bringing the U11 Plus to those in the US.

Both phones launched with Android 7.1 Nougat out of the box but will be updated to Android 8.0 Oreo in the near future.

HTC hasn't said much about which countries will get the U11 Plus.

What should you get?

The HTC U11 Life is now available from T-Mobile for $350 or you can get it unlocked directly from HTC.com.

The device is powered by 2,600mAh battery and features 16MP camera on the front and back.

The device will be available on sale from 20th of November and is priced at £699.

Otherwise, you're getting a lot of what you'd also get on the standard U11, including Edge Sense, the squeezable sides that Google coopted for the Pixel 2.
