Bungie Announces Livestream for Destiny 2 - Expansion I: Curse of Osiris

Today Bungie began the first stream in a three part offensive to whet your appetite for Curse of Osiris. Bungie plans to share more details about the new expansion activities we can embark on then.

"We're learning from and listening to all the feedback we got on Destiny 1, and we're applying it", Ward noted.

We see Osiris in the expansion as a Middle Eastern man dressed in Eqypt inspired clothing, and he has a female ghost named Sagira. We only really knew Osiris from grimoire cards and the Trials of Osiris, but his knowledge of the Vex will make him a leader for guardians during the Vex crisis.

In terms of the core story, we got a look at a new cinematic from Curse of Osiris (above). He'll offer a new type of area-specific reward called Lighthouse Engrams. The Lighthouse will be the new social space on Mercury. Our characters can reach the light level 25 and power level of 330, 335 with mods. The story is set several months after the end of Destiny 2's campaign, following the end of the Red War.

The Vex turned Mercury into a machine-world, the center of Mercury is nothing but Vex tech.

Step through a huge portal on the surface of Mercury and you'll materialize miles away in the Infinite Forest of the Vex. Inside the Infinite Forest are "trees" which are really giant monuments that will allows us to see different times, future and past.

If you thought "new Raid content" meant an all-new Raid, you're going to be a bit disappointed by Curse of Osiris.

It isn't as cool as getting an all-new Raid. There's also new missions, new strikes, new raid content, new free-roam activities and a world quest to complete. Presumably, the raid that releases with the big expansion due next fall will finally go to a completely new location. The Raid Lair will be available shortly after the launch of the DLC. The team also promised that there will be a Prestige mode for this Raid Lair.

Curse of Osiris will launch for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on December 5, 2017.

Some other information was shared which will be elaborated on in later streams. Heroic strikes, which were in the first game, are returning with the DLC.

The next Destiny 2: Curse of Osiris stream is scheduled for 11am PST / 7pm GMT on November 21.
