With stories about women allegedly harassed by Harvey Weinstein surfacing all around her, Oscar victor Lupita Nyong'o decided she couldn't keep her own story squashed down any longer. "I told him I preferred to eat in the restaurant".

Since The New York Times published its initial expose on October 5, honors conferred on Weinstein by Harvard University and the British Film Institute have been rescinded, and several Democratic lawmakers have donated political contributions they received from Weinstein to charity.
Many of those accusing Weinstein of racism, on top of everything else, failed to mention he had also specifically refuted claims by Ashley Judd, in the early days of the ever-growing controversy.
Young went on to say that she believes many other women didn't come out to tell their stories of harassment because of the system in place. After some theater work, she quit acting.

"The Los Angeles Police Department's Robbery Homicide Division has interviewed a potential sexual assault victim involving Harvey Weinstein which allegedly occurred in 2013", LAPD officer Sal Ramirez said in a statement released on Thursday, according to the Los Angeles Times reports. The allegations and public discussion of Weinstein's behavior have also prompted scores of people outside Hollywood circles to share their own experiences with sexual harassment and assault on social media using the now-viral hashtag #MeToo.
