Who's moron here? Trump teases Tillerson over IQ

United States President Donald Trump has said he still has confidence in Rex Tillerson, but only after suggesting he was smarter than his own Secretary of State by challenging him to an IQ test.

"I think it's fake news, but if he did that, I guess we'll have to compare IQ tests".

He produced two sets of IQ test results, one for Tillerson and one for Trump. "And I can tell you who is going to win", Trump told Forbes reporter Randall Lane.

ITK reached out to the geniuses at Mensa - which describes itself as "an worldwide society whose only qualification for membership is a score in the top 2 percent of the general population on a standardized intelligence test" - and asked if they'd be willing to take Trump's suggestion.

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said the president made a joke and didn't imply that the secretary of state isn't intelligent. It was a potentially awkward sit-down because of reports that Tillerson once called the president a "moron".

"They're working hand in hand to move the president's agenda forward".

In the Forbes interview, Trump also reacted to criticism that he has undermined Tillerson through his provocative posts on Twitter that have interfered directly with ongoing diplomatic efforts. "I think I'm actually strengthening authority".
