Bonfils Blood Center urges both existing and first-time donors of all blood types to call 1.800.365.0006, or 303.363.2300 to schedule an appointment at one of our eight donor centers or at a mobile blood drive.

Hours after the Las Vegas shootings, authorities in Nevada began asking the public for blood donations to treat the wounded.

Bonfils said it has shipped blood to Las Vegas and is working to determine additional needs. BounceU in Henderson, which is located right behind the Whitney Rancho donation center, is offering free bouncing until 5:30 p.m. today for children of adult donors.

Corley said Blood Centers of the Pacific, which has donation centers in Santa Rosa, Napa and San Rafael, stands ready to send blood supplies directly to Las Vegas.

"We are seeing tremendous support from the community and potential donors to help out with this effort". The San Diego Blood Bank can not do what it does without people like you who step up in times of need.

People in Colorado Springs are answering the call.

"During tragedy, its the blood on the shelves that is saving lives", said Tesia Hummer with the Inland Northwest Blood Center.

Staff at Bonfils say by having a consistent set of donations, the blood they collect here can go wherever it needs to across town or around the nation. In times like this, they monitor supply across the country to make sure the blood supply gets to where it is needed.

It's also possible that patients could be flown out to Stanford Hospital, blood center spokesman Loren Magana said.

Platelet donors are asked to make appointments through the remainder of the week and the coming weeks. Walk-ins are welcome at any of our locations.
