He said VX is oily and hard to detect because it is colorless and odorless, and can be easily transported in a water bottle.

Government doctor Ranjini Sivaganabalan, who specializes in poison, later testified that VX may not be fatal in very low dosages.

VX is banned by an global treaty as a weapon of mass destruction but is believed to be part of North Korea's chemical weapons arsenal.

Traces of degradation elements were also discovered on the fingernail samples obtained from Doan.
