Teens accused of tossing rocks from overpass, killing construction worker

The victim was 32-year-old Kenneth White of Mt. Morris.

White's family told 7 Action News they could not believe this happened.

'These kids ... Couldn't they just go skip rocks on the river or something instead of doing something so senseless.

"We have a family here", Genesee County Undersheriff Chris Swanson said. He's got a child. "We want to find out who's responsible for this". He was my best friend and the love of my life. "His stupid act took away a life". If you'd like to make a donation to help Kenneth's family pay for his funeral expenses, you can do so via their GoFundMe account here.

White's sister, Alicia Waskoski, told The Detroit News that her brother "loved being a working man". "He liked being outside and throwing a football around, video games and sports", she continued. According to the report, he moved back to MI from SC about two years ago with Cagle and their son.

Relaying the agony of White's death, Donald White, Kenneth White's uncle told of speaking to the co-worker who'd been driving, 'Put the doctor on the phone and said we did everything... we did everything we could for him and he died'. "I'm pleased that someone is going to be held accountable for what they did". Police took four teens into custody this past Friday and officers are treating the investigation as a homicide.

Photos of the scene show a gaping hole in the windshield of a white van with a ladder fastened on top.

Authorities said four other cars were struck with large rocks and were waiting for police to arrive when the fatal incident occurred.
