Shin Megami Tensei V was originally hinted at during Nintendo's Switch reveal earlier on this year, and following the game's official unveiling earlier it's only been confirmed for the Nintendo console so far. After months of speculating whether this would be a spin off or a full entry in the series, we now know the game is indeed Shin Megami Tensei V, the next mainline game in the series.
The trailer isn't exactly the most informative video clip it could have been, but we do get to see how the game will look beyond the demon artwork previously teased during the Switch announcement. The trailer begins with the two walking inside of a train station, before cutting to a scene where we see the city's tunnels being littered with demon corpses. The Shin Megami Tensei series used to rarely venture outside of Japan, but the brand brought in a new wave of worldwide fans with the Persona spinoff games. It will mark the first numbered game since 2013's Shin Megami Tensei IV on the 3DS - a spin-off tieing into the same story, Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse, released last Fall.More news: Bush skewers President Trump without using his name in impassioned speech
