Selena Quintanilla, known to her fans as the "queen of Tejano music", is finally getting her Hollywood star!
The unveiling will take place on November 3 and her sister Suzette Quintanilla Arriaga will join Hollywood Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Leron Gubler for the ceremony, Fox 11 Los Angeles reported. The Walk of Fame Selection Committee had first announced in 2016 that Selena would be honored with a star. The ceremony will be live streamed on the Walk of Fame's website here. She began her rise in the music industry in the 80's before becoming one of the biggest names in music in the 90's. "I'm certain she would've been extremely proud and happy to receive this honor".
Quintanilla was just 23 years old when she was fatally shot. Today, she ranks among the most influential Latin artists of all time and is credited for catapulting the Texas sound into the mainstream national market.
