Revanth Reddy quits TDP

"So, our boss Naidu asked all TS-TDP leaders, including Revanth, to meet him in Amaravati tomorrow", TDP senior Ravula Chandrasehar Reddy said after the meeting.

Around the same time, TDP National President and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, who briefed the media about his nine-day foreign tour, did not reveal what transpired in his brief interaction with the disgruntled Kodangal MLA at the CM camp office here. Moreover, Naidu was requested by few leaders for one-on-one meetings.

Revanth Reddy was supposed to join the Congress after a couple of weeks at a grand rally addressed by Rahul Gandhi, post the latter's appointment as Congress president sometime in November.

The Telangana TDP leaders and central committee members called on Chandrababu Naidu at Lake View Guest house after his return from overseas.

"My party supremo N Chandrababu Naidu assured me that no decision will be taken against my wishes with regard to forging alliances in Telangana in 2019 polls". The mood in the TD is that it will disintegrate further as many leaders look to alternative parties like the Congress, TRS and the BJP. Senior TDP leader Narsimhulu said that the party can not afford to align with the Congress.

The party's internal conflict came out in the open, with both Revanth and Payyavula Keshavulu accusing each other of being corrupt. Acknowledging his firebrand leadership, the TDP chief had created a post for him, of working president, which previously didn't exist in the party.

"Resignations are not new in TDP".
