Following the ANI report, information and broadcasting minister Smriti Irani took to Twitter to question the authenticity of retweets. "I want to thank them for their cooperation on many fronts" tweet and caption "Modi ji quick; looks like President Trump needs another hug" has been retweeted more than 30,000 times so far. The Union Minister Smriti Irani said that the Congress leader cannot win the Gujarat Assembly election with these attempts and further wished the Rahul Gandhi on the occasion of the Gujarati New Year.
News Agency ANI put out a story this morning, questioning whether Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi's twitter followers were automated ones "mass retweeting" his posts.
"The people are completely aware that this is what the problem with this country is and the Prime Minister (Narendra Modi)'s false promises. people have lost patience".
As on Friday, Gandhi has 3.81 million followers and 3,352 tweets. Activist Tehseen Poonawalla pointed out how among those who retweeted Modi's tweets also included an escort agency.
