However, despite these moments of joy and shared tenderness, Neufelder and Smith both knew that she would soon be moving to a nursing home, as her health continued to rapidly decline and doctors could no longer fight the war against her cancer.

The patient, 63-year-old Margaret Smith, had been battling liver cancer for almost a year.

Smith's daughter, Megan, shared a touching and emotional video on Facebook of the nurse holding her mother's hand and singing her a song.

A friend of Smith's captured the touching moment, which quickly went viral after it was posted to Facebook by Megan Smith, Margaret's daughter. Smith wrote of the nurse.

The video has since racked up 3.5 million views. "You truly are a beam of light and I can not thank you enough for the compassion and care and love you shared for my mother". (I hope you all share this so it can find its way back to nurse Olivia in Vanderbilt)'. "God bless you Olivia!"

Smith said Neufelder sat with her mother for hours as her anesthesia wore off.

"There was nearly a sense of peace knowing that it was her favorite song and she did tell me it's the song she wants played at her funeral", Neufelder told WTVF.

Roberts referred to Neufelder as "a God-fearing young lady who takes time to care and love her patients". "My thoughts and prayers are forever with this incredible family". It stated that Smith was "a mom to a lot of our children, a prayer warrior for those who needed prayer, an ear for all of us in time of venting and just being the most flawless friend".

Smith died earlier this week, according to a GoFundMe page, which has raised more than $1800 for her expenses.
