This iteration of the Echo improves upon the original with a better set of speakers, the more compact design and the brand new addition of hands-free calling and messaging on iOS and Android devices, directly to the Echo. "Both of the aforementioned Echos have dual Dolby speakers with 2.5" woofer and a tweeter.

You can preorder the deal now and the devices will arrive October 25, when the new 4K Fire TV ships. You can order your Echo Plus now, and it will ship October 31. The latest Echoes are solid upgrades over their older counterparts, with better sound and better smart home integration - so if you were on the fence about buying an Echo, now's the time to shop.

The Amazon Echo Plus is identical to its smaller sibling - Echo 2nd generation. Those outer shells can be easily swapped and at launch come with six official options to add to the Echo.

The Echo Plus, which supports smart home devices, now sets up sync with compatible devices from ZigBee, Philips Hue, GE, Kwikset, and more, as soon as you say "Alexa, discover my devices". That should mean far easier and more natural controls of smarthome gadgets like lights, heating and cameras.

The Fire TV is already on pre-order and shipping in the USA starts October 25. In terms of design and size, it's identical to an alarm clock.

How much is the Echo Spot? It does everything the Echo does but the display gives you real time feedback on your queries, along with being able to show you things like the weather without having to ask for it, or scroll song lyrics or do video calls or play a video. You can call local or worldwide, depending upon your connection, and calls to 911 are also allowed.

Echo Spot features a video screen that can play video, display a watch face and be used for video calls.

The difference is that the Echo Spot is way smaller: It's about as wide as Amazon's popular, tiny Echo Dot smart speaker, which retails for $49, but it's taller, to accommodate that screen. The 2017 Amazon Echo is £89, a big drop from the last model at £150.

Audio quality from the Spot won't be wonderful, but you can hook up an external speaker via Bluetooth or AUX.

Yesterday, at a pre-emptive event in Seattle, Amazon introduced new Alexa devices to keep its lead in the battle for the smart home.

Price: The Echo Connect is priced at $34.99 and will be available December 13. However, this is significantly lagging behind Amazon at the moment in terms of popularity, and the release of Amazon's new product range is likely only going to make it more hard for the tech company to close the gap.
