Packers prepare for desperate Bengals

About the last thing that the struggling team needed was a trip to Lambeau Field on Sunday to face the Green Bay Packers. "We've got to do a great job attacking what is our perceived weakness of the defense and get the ball to our guys who can make plays". If he does not return, the Green Bay Packers will likely start Kyle Murphy at left tackle and Justin McCray at right tackle once again.

In the opener against Baltimore, Cincinnati lost 20-0 due, in large part, to five giveaways. Another consideration is that the Bengals played last Thursday, so they'll have had extra time to prepare for this contest.

"You're going to hopefully see the team's best shot", Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers said. Lewis has had some success vs. Rodgers, though.

The Packers on offense will want to be balanced throughout. In matchups in 2009 and 2013, Cincinnati won both games and held Rodgers to a passer rating of 73.5. There were more players from Atlanta treated on the sidelines though and Green Bay was supposed to in because they came into the game "healthy", which makes this comment curious at the very least. The team has to play two games in a 12 day span, starting on Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals, then the following Thursday against the Chicago Bears. Seven starters were out by the end of the Atlanta game. Barring a setback, Nelson appears on pace to be available Sunday against the Bengals, who have conceded a league-low 13 receptions (tied with the Rams) to wide receivers so far this season.

On Monday, Green Bay coach Mike McCarthy said the team's medical staff is still trying to figure out the extent of all the injuries suffered by the Packers on Sunday. That said, Dalton has looked absolutely terrible in the pocket and there is no guarantee that changes with a new play-caller this week. There's an expectation of a style of play and a performance that we all have for ourselves and for each other. Right guard Jahri Evans injured his groin, but was able to stay in the game and didn't miss a snap.
