Xiaomi Mi 6C with in-house Surge S2 chipset leaked


After announcing Mi 5X, MIUI 9 and much more stuff at the recent event in Beijing, Xiaomi has become busy again and this time it seems that the company is working on the Mi 6C, which is believed as the mini-version of the flagship Mi 6.

The smartphone is powered by a 2GHz octa-core Snapdragon 625 SoC, coupled with 4GB of RAM and an Adreno 506 GPU. It's built on TSMC's 16nm process and is made up of four 2.2GHz ARM Cortex-A73 cores and four 1.8GHz ARM Cortex-A53 cores.

The leak also suggests that the Mi 6c will be launched in two variants - the 4GB RAM/64GB storage model is tipped to be priced at CNY 2,000 (roughly Rs. 18,900), and the 6GB RAM/128GB storage model is expected to be priced at CNY 2,500 (roughly Rs. 23,600). The first lens is a wide-angle lens, while the second one is a telephoto lens. As far as videos are concerned, while the front-facing camera can shoot 1080p videos at 30fps, the rear-facing module can actually shoot 4K videos at 30fps and full HD videos at up to 120fps. The device comes with a four-sided 3D glass design surrounded by metallic frames.

Connectivity features on the OnePlus 5 include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Wi-Fi Direct, DLNA and Bluetooth 5.0, while cellular connectivity includes support for 34 different frequency bands. Fingerprint sensor is embedded into the display. The device ships with a USB Type-C port for charging and data syncing, but also keeps the 3.5mm audio port for backwards compatibility with older headphones and audio systems. The smartphone is backed by a 3,350mAh battery. According to the report, the Xiaomi Mi 6C is has been slated for launch in the fourth quarter of the year. The device features a 5.7-inch dual curved-edge AMOLED display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The device is said to pack 4 GB RAM along with 64 GB internal storage with the device. Furthermore, Xiaomi Mi Max 2 is also available across several offline stores in the country.
