"War Stories" campaign coming to World of Tanks console versions

Wargaming is changing that up with a new "War Stories" campaign launching for the console versions of World of Tanks next week.

This single-player content could be the result of the recent partnership Wargaming struck with Splash Damage, but according to the press release is the first in a number of single player campaigns that will be added to the game in the future. Flashpoint Berlin follows a British solider trying to break through a Cold War-era Berlin blockade. The "War Stories" campaign will be playable at gamescom 2017 and will release on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on August 22nd - complete in 4K for Xbox One X (once released) and PlayStation 4 Pro users.

"We don't have the exact release cadence yet, but the idea is that this is not just a "one-off update", we're gonna keep updating this and build that library of content so that the single player experience is very very robust". These story driven campaigns will feature both single player and cooperative play, showcasing alternate history and fantasy campaigns told across three mission arcs. Even new fish can attend World of Tanks boot camp with a thorough three-part training mission that teaches the basics of the game, as well as tank armor, sniping, scouting, and more.

As part of its multiplatform line-up, the company has introduced World of Tanks on Xbox and World of Tanks Blitz on mobile platforms, Windows 10 PCs and Mac OS X. Launched in 2014 and 2015, World of Tanks on Xbox introduced epic tank-on-tank battles to console gamers and offers the first cross-platform gaming experience between Xbox 360 and Xbox One.

First released for the Xbox 360 in 2014 and the Xbox One in 2015, World of Tanks followed up with a release to the PlayStation 4 previous year.

For gamers who are unaware of the World of Tanks franchise, War Stories is the ideal opportunity to get on the battlefield, with more information to come later in the month at Gamescom.
