This will be the second update in Siege's Year 2 content lineup, following on from the three month content pause, where Operation Health was introduced.
Ubisoft has officially released new information on the next major update for Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege: Operation Blood Orchid. The update is set in Hong Kong, which brings two new operators from Hong Kong's Special Duties Unit (SDU), a new Operator from Poland's Grupa Reagowania Operacyjno-Manewrowego (GROM), a new Hong Kong map, and new weapons. With work now mostly wrapped up (and quite successful from the look of it), it will soon be time to get back into the action, and to that end Ubi has announced that season three, bearing the name Operation Blood Orchid, is on the way. All of this new content will be available on August 29 for anyone who has a season pass, and September 5 for everyone else after that. No details were revealed about the map except that it will be a Hong Kong map. August 29th sees the release of Operation Blood Orchid and with it three new operators, one more than the standard two we've seen in new content patches.More news: Ilkay Gundogan could play for Manchester City next week, says Pep Guardiola

The full announcement for the new season will land on the 26th August during Gamescom's Pro League Finals, which pits eight teams from across Europe, North America and Latin America for the title of Year 2 Season 2 Pro League Champion as well as a portion of the $237,500 prize pool.
The arrival of this expansion also marks the conclusion of Operation Health - an initiative in recent months to address the biggest issues plaguing Rainbow Six Siege.
