A team once considered to be one of the best, North Americans Evil Geniuses have performed poorly in this year's global, not winning a single match: being beaten by both Newbee and Russian team Team Empire early in the tournament - both ending in a 2-0 loss.

The free-to-play multiplayer online battle arena, Dota 2 finally has a victor.

Next, EU team OG fought for worldwide redemption after breaking their apparent tournament curse the day before, while Chinese team LGD sought to recover after being knocked from the upper bracket on the first day of the main event. The Key Arena in Seattle turned into a fierce battleground where the Chinese and North American fans were supporting their respective teams.

LGD move on to the Lower Bracket Finals to face off against Team Liquid. From there, team Liquid went ahead by defeating Team Secret, Team, Virtus Pro and other two Chinese teams. However, Newbee seemed to be in a dominant position for much of the third game until a team fight at Roshan, where Juggernaut not only just survive but start slashing crits, swung the experience and gold charts firmly in Liquid's favour. They will face the victor of Lower Bracket Finals; the victor of LFY vs Liquid.
