"You can really save a lot of money for Tax Free Weekend". From today through Sunday, many school items will be exempt from sales tax, including clothing and footwear priced less than $100 per article.
"You'll save approximately $8 for every $100 you spend", said Candace Foster, the marketing director at Broadway Square Mall.
The exemption doesn't include items that are reasonably defined as luggage, briefcases, athletic-duffle-gym bags, computer bags, purses or framed backpacks.

Tax exemptions also apply to items bought online, by mail or telephone, as long as the total price including shipping charges is under $100. Shoppers can use layaway plans to get the tax break.
This year, shoppers will save an estimated $92 million in state and local sales taxes during the sales tax holiday.
"When we found out it was tax free weekend we were like yea, were going shopping, because we don't have anything like that", Mary Schroeder said.
