'Talvar' director Meghna Gulzar's next 'Raazi' gets a release date

Filmmaker Karan Johar, who is co-producing the film, tweeted on Tuesday: "Exciting date announcement!"

Alia Bhatt starrer upcoming film Raazi, based on a never-seen-before avatar of a Kashmiri girl, has finally got a release date of May 11, 2018.

Ask her how she landed the role and she reveals that, "Casting director Jogi has cast for movies like Pink and I am thrilled to be a part of this interesting project of Dharma (Productions)".

"Kashmir is definitely one of the places where Raazi will be shot".

In Meghna's words, "I am trying to do something in a new space, recreating India and Pakistan of the 1970s on sets and real locations".

"Raazi" is directed by Meghna Gulzar, produced by Karan Johar and will be releasing on May 11, 2018. "It's work in progress with workshops and reading sessions".

Based on HarinderSikka's bestselling novel, Calling Sehmat, 'Raazi' means agreeable.

Kaushal is known for award-winning film Masaan. The film marks, both Alia and Vicky's first Bollywood collaboration.

Firstpost had earlier reported that the film is essentially not a war drama. Now on a break, Alia Bhatt is all set to hit the silver screen with her upcoming ventures, which include Gully boy with Ranveer Singh and Dragon opposite Ranbir Kapoor. The Meghna Gulzar directorial is set to release on May 11, 2018.
