Sonic Mania delayed two weeks on PC

Since Sonic Mania is an officially published fan remix of 16-bit era Sonic games, it naturally taps into the Sonic of the 1990's and those first four games rather than later interpretations. Sonic and his two original super friends run, jump and fly through a colorful fantasy world, having themselves a hell of a time. It was previously set to arrive on August 15, 2017, the same day the game comes to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.

SEGA has announced that Sonic Mania has been delayed to August 29th. "And we're going to maintain that level of quality and consistency and dedication to that quality". Users who purchased the collector's edition will still receive their box on August 15, and the code inside will allow them to claim their copy of Sonic the Hedgehog. The offer will be available to those who pre-ordered either the Standard or the Collector's Editions.

Sega has released the opening animation video featured in Sonic Mania.

The PC Version of Sonic Mania Has Been Delayed

The event in question relates to an early unlicensed stream of Sonic Mania, which revealed several unannounced zones and features which had been kept secret by the development team. The game is scheduled to launch later this month. Sonic Mania is heavily inspired by Sonic CD, and this animated intro is no different in that regard.
