Packers open preseason against Eagles

Early Thursday afternoon, Aaron Rodgers took to social media to give away four tickets to the Green Bay Packers' preseason opener against the Philadelphia Eagles at Lambeau Field. But the Packers probably won't put Nelson at risk much throughout the preseason, which is probably for the best. It is Green Bay's first preseason visit to Denver since 2008.

Carson Wentz has been bolstered by additional talent in his second season, with free agents Alshon Jeffery, Torrey Smith, and LeGarrette Blount all joining the team.

Dean Lowry is going to be starting at defensive end, Kenny Clark will start at nose tackle, Jake Ryan and Blake Martinez will play inside linebacker and either Quinten Rollins or Damarious Randall will likely get a starting corner spot, if Kevin King doesn't outshine them. The move makes the Packers even thinner on the defensive line-third-round pick Montravius Adams is out for the season with a left foot injury he suffered on the first day of training camp. Hundley picked up the pace after a sluggish start as the Packers defense started forcing turnovers.

After a slow first quarter, Trevor Davis' 68-yard punt return touchdown gave the Packers the lead for good.

Hundley finished 8 of 15 for 90 yards before sitting out the second half. "I think both teams are obviously struggling handling the ball a little bit tonight - first time out, a little slick", Packers coach Mike McCarthy said.

Joe Thomas had an interception, while King was credited with a forced fumble.

Eagles: DE Derek Barnett, the 14th overall pick in the draft out of Tennessee, had two sacks in the first half. The team later announced that Dupre had movement and feeling in all his extremities and was transported to a local hospital for observation.
