The new season is upon Manchester United and Jose Mourinho is about to start his second campaign as the club's manager.

Keown believes Lukaku was bought in to be Mourinho's new Didier Drogba, but questioned whether he had the consistency to hit the same heights as the Ivorian forward.

"He wants more at the highest level so we are having conversations and we are discussing the possibility of him to stay with us for the second part of the season". In the case of the first two, I feel that this may hit them and their league title hopes, since I've yet to see sufficient strengthening of their squad.

Mourinho knows they were over-reliant on the injured ex-Sweden striker's goals and wants more support for this season's main man Romelu Lukaku. His season was cut short by the devastating knee mishap, which has threatened to keep him out until the end of the year, if not for the whole season. "What we had was midfielders and wingers scoring, and even central defenders scoring goals from set pieces", Mourinho said.

"We also have people coming later - Ashley Young, Luke Shaw, Marcos Rojo, maybe Zlatan (Ibrahimovic)".

West Ham were one of the many teams Man United failed to finish off at home last season, managing just a 1-1 draw, and a repeat of that on Sunday would create a gloomy feeling of familiarity.

"I think everybody is in Europe".

"I did take Watford out of my picks because I think Andre Gray is a good signing for them and could make the difference".

"I understand the reality of the market, the numbers and my club by doing 75 per cent of what I asked, the club did well. I think it is the objective of every one of the top teams and every one of the top team managers", Mourinho said.

"We have one more reason to be happy because, in this pre-season, we didn't lose any player". And I always had respect and the desire to do well in the English cups and I always liked to go to the finals.

"Victor [Lindelof] can play right-back and can play central midfield". Obviously the [remaining] 25% would be a player for another position playing from the sides.

"Obviously were still missing a few players but that shows the strength of the squad - although we're missing some players we still have the quality to go there and do something good".
