LG's V30 will be the first phone with an f/1.6 lens

LG announced tonight that its upcoming flagship phone, the LG V30, will feature a first for a smartphone camera.

The LG V30 is the latest trend in the word of leaks and several reports of the device showing the V30 in different guises have surfaced over the past few days. The lower the number, the more light the sensor can receive, so the V30's lens will be around 25 percent brighter, LG said. Beside the wider aperture, the internal construction of LG's new camera will include a glass lens, which is said to deliver sharper, more faithful images. The glass lens is not only better compared to a regular plastic lens when it comes to that undertaking, it also does a greater job with colour reproduction.

The new blogpost form LG takes a dog at the current gen smartphone cameras as they tend to change the color of object. "For the users for whom the V series was designed, this kind of innovation is significant". LG believes it trumps other handsets on those categories as well. Boasting a 6-inch QHD+ OLED display, the handset is touted to equip the largest LG display in the last four years. It holds major features including Optical Image Stabilization, Electronic Image Stabilization, and Laser Auto Focus.

"Even with all these improvements, the rear camera module of the LG V30 still manages to remain svelte, 30 percent smaller in size compared to the V20", according to the South Korean tech giant.
