The accused were arraigned Tuesday in Salem Juvenile Court where they were charged with "child endangerment and assault and battery with a unsafe weapon".
Two teenage girls from MA are facing charges after police say they put an infant they were baby-sitting inside a refrigerator and closed the door.
The video, posted to Snapchat, may be hard to watch.
"We can report that the child is home with a parent and is doing well", Ambrose said.
In an interview with WCVB-TV (Ch. 5), the baby's mother said one of the girls was her niece. "I was very angry", the baby's mother said.
In the footage, the girls are seen putting the baby in the fridge, closing the door and laughing while the infant screamed. "I'm traumatized from that".More news: Injured Andy Murray opts out of Cincinnati, Focusing on US Open return

The mother of the child asked her niece and a friend to watch her infant daughter for a few minutes so she could take a shower Monday evening at a local hotel. I feel like they learned a lesson and would never do it again.
"My daughter is OK, I want everyone to know that I was not aware of the situation and it's very unfortunate", she said.
After a video of the alleged incident was posted on Snapchat, law enforcement and the Department of Children and Families opened an investigation. "I think it was all foolishness, stupidity", Bonnie said.
"Be careful who you leave your children with", she cautioned. "You can't trust anyone, not even your own family", said Bonnie.
The Essex County District Attorney's Office said the two girls were arrested Tuesday in Danvers, Massachusetts.
