As you can see in the screenshots above, comment threads are exactly what their name suggests, which is where users can reply to comments and create their own conversation, that way you know that certain comments are related to each other.

Instagram, much like its parent company Facebook, has finally made a decision to organise comments into threads to make conversations easier to follow - a long running problem on the photo-sharing app. The firm hopes that this new update will "make your feed an even better place to share interests, get inspired and connect with others".

When users hit "reply" on a comment after today's update, the comment will appear in a nested thread. Instagram says the feature will be available globally within two weeks.

The photo-focused networking site has been making improvements to the platform over the past few months. The spam filter looks for any obvious spam in comments, blocking it from users' posts and live videos.

The feature was first reported as a test on Android apps earlier this summer, but now, the company is adding threaded comments to everyone's accounts on both Android and iOS.
