Dragon Ball FighterZ Reveals Dragon Ball Super Saiyan Variations And New Storyline

In the latest issue of Weekly Shonen Jump (scan via ShonenGames), Bandai Namco Entertainment revealed more fighters for the upcoming Dragon Ball FighterZ.

Earlier this week, some new Dragon Ball FighterZ gameplay footage emerged online, showcasing some impressive combos performed by a variety of characters.

The four characters join the existing roster of nine playable fighters that now equates to 13, although two of the four are duplicate characters.

First up, we have confirmation that both Android 16 and Android 18 are indeed playable. The existing nine stand to be Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, Cell, Frieza, Majin Buu, Trunks, Krillin, and Piccolo.

Lastly, both Super Saiyan Blue Goku and Vegeta have been confirmed as separate playable characters. Along with them comes an expected story mode, but this time it's a new story with new, "high-end" animation where "super warriors fall one by one" and involves Android 16 who is revived. Android 18 can use "Accel Dance", which is a combination attack that summons Android 17.

As for Android 16, Jump says he'll play a prominent role in the game's "what-if" story mode.

According to the magazine, Dragon Ball FighterZ will sport a unique Story Mode which will not follow the manga and anime storyline.

The game is coming next year for PC, PS4, and Xbox One, so there's not long to wait before we can try out these fighters.
