The ex-Bigg Boss contestant and people's favourite Oviya, has received summons by the Nazarathpet police following a complaint filed by an advocate alleging her that she attempted suicide inside the sets of the show.

The complainant has asked the police to launch an inquiry into her alleged suicide attempt. The channel had telecasted visuals of Oviya immersing herself into a pool on August 4. The complainant further alleged that her suicide attempt was triggered by depression caused by the activities forced on her by the producers, the show's host and Vijay TV. However, Oviya's manager has denied suicide attempt by the actress.

Thanks to NTR's superstardom and the curiosity over the new game show, Bigg Boss opened to blockbuster response in Telugu.

On the other hand, the Madras High Court has sought details of the mechanism available under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting for monitoring such issues after a PIL was filed demanding a ban on the show. Oviya was seen undergoing significant mental duress on her last few days on the show.

It's well known that Oviya attempted suicide due to too much stress in Vijay TV's Bigg Boss and later, opted out of the show following the advice of medical experts.

The accuser has called for Bigg Boss Tamil to be stopped immediately on the grounds of protecting Tamil culture.The matter has been posted for next hearing which is scheduled for August 18.
