Johnny Manziel says he's been talking with National Football League teams

The former enfant awful of the Cleveland Browns, Johnny Manziel, is said to have had discussions with teams to make a comeback in the NFL.

"I think the thing I realized over the past year and the thing I realized from being away from it is really how much you miss it", he said, per the Dallas Morning News's Jon Machota.

Manziel last played in December of 2015 as a member of the Cleveland Browns.

There was a lot of chatter about Dallas going after Manziel back then.

Right now, we're on the "we're having comeback conversations" swing of the Manziel news cycle.

"Whenever I get the call, I'll do whatever I can to make the most of it".

But for a team to say Manziel is a better option than a quarterback that led a team to back to back NFC championship game appearances is making a mockery out of the game and the league. "That's really what I'm holding out for every day".

"When I get my chance, I will do whatever it takes to seize it", he assured.

A first-round selection by the Browns in 2014, Manziel was released by Cleveland in March 2016 after two turbulent seasons that included a domestic violence case that has since been dropped, rehab, his agent leaving him, endorsements disassociating with him and multiple incidents of party antics. "That's all I've known for so long".

"I think the thing I realized over the past year and the thing I realized from being away from it is really how much you miss it", Manziel told the newspaper.

After being selected in the first round of the 2014 National Football League draft by the Browns, Manziel started in eight games over the course of two seasons with the team, racking up a record of 2-6. It's what I love to do.

Manziel made headlines previous year after he was spotted across the country partying - including one instance in Las Vegas where Manziel appeared to look shockingly thin - despite insisting he was preparing a return to the NFL.
