Trump Believes in Climate Change, Says US Ambassador

"In order to fulfill my solemn duty to protect America and its citizens, the United States will withdraw from the Paris climate accord", Trump said in a sunny outdoor ceremony at the White House Rose Garden.

Bloomberg's charitable organization, Bloomberg Philanthropies, announced Thursday that it would finance the U.S.' share of the administrative costs of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, the mechanism required to keep the almost 200-member nation deal upright.

He said the deal offers the best global platform to address the causes of climate change and mitigate its effects.

"America has unilaterally ceded global leadership on this issue, which for years even Republican presidents ... pushed in this direction".

In an interview on "Meet The Press", Kerry compared Trump's pledge to "see if we can make a deal that's fair", to OJ Simpson's famous 1995 pledge to find the person who killed Nicole Brown and Ron Goldman.

Among other things, the French video says that the $3bn (£2.3bn) that former US Presdent Barack Obama pledged to the Green Climate Fund is "less per capita than many other countries including Germany, France, the United Kingdom and Sweden".
