Toddler critically injured by father on Father's Day in NYC

A Brooklyn man who allegedly punched his 16-month-old daughter into a coma said he told the baby's mother to get an abortion when she was pregnant.

Shaquan Taylor, 19, denies the vicious assault.

Taylor griped frequently via Facebook about his troubled relationship with the girl's mother, Tammy Lewis.

Little Nylaha suffered a bleeding in the brain and two skull fractures and bruising on her legs face and other parts of her body at the hands of her father, police say.

An order of protection was issued last July.

Sometime in the afternoon Taylor sent a Facebook message to the mom, telling her there was a problem and that she needed to pick up Nylaha, police sources said.

Nylah needed a blood transfusion after arriving Sunday at Maimonides Medical Center. "Please don't ask who Nylah's moms is nor do I still f-- with her cause NO", he wrote.

"She just said he said to get everything and just get out, that's it", Munford said. Authorities say Taylor later changed his story, saying that Nylah fell from the toilet.

Tammy took hold of her daughter and left the apartment.

The little girl was taken to a Brooklyn hospital, where she was listed in critical condition.

Taylor then allegedly grabbed the baby and handed her to a friend who gave her to EMS who had arrived at the scene.

A young father in Brooklyn is facing charges in a disturbing assault that police say almost killed his infant daughter. According to court documents, doctors said her injuries could not have come from a fall but were intentionally inflicted. Taylor has five previous arrests.

Investigators Monday were at the Coney Island apartment where the child was under the care of her 18-year-old father, Shaquan Taylor, during a legal visitation on Father's Day.

"I didn't even want to have a baby by her [and] it's sad to say, but f**k it, s**t happens", Taylor wrote. He was also charged with beating Lewis, according to the Daily News.

Taylor remains in custody on £200,000 bail and has been charged with assaulting the tot and her mum Tammy.
