Serious crash on I-93 in Londonderry closes part of highway


A preliminary investigation indicated the operator of the vehicle, Julia Melendez of Mattapan, lost control and struck the guard rail.

The driver, Julia Melendez, 22 of Mattapan, Massachusetts, was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.

A woman is dead after a auto accident in Londonderry, New Hampshire on Friday evening around 7:15 p.m., according to police.

Londonderry Fire said they initially responded to a single-car crash at about 7:17 mile marker 15.8.

A 21-year-old passenger, Karina Feliz, of Bradford, Massachusetts, was taken to Elliot Hospital with minor injuries.

A child passenger was taken to the hospital before being flown to Boston Children's Hospital for serious, but stable injuries.

State police ask anyone with information about the accident to call Trooper Ssonko at the Troop B barracks at 603-223-4381.

About three hours after this accident, a second crash occurred on I-93 north about one mile south of the first crash scene. Crash victims were being evaluated for injuries at that scene, police officials said.
