Mayweather confirmed Wednesday the highly anticipated matchup between the two superstars is set for August 26.
Earlier on Tuesday, the Nevada Athletic Commission approved a request from Mayweather Promotions to host a fight at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on 26 August. Though terms have yet to be disclosed, the rest of the card will be a full boxing card and the fight will happen either in the MGM or T-Mobile Arena.
Going into the fight, Mayweather, who's been retired since September 15, is the favorite with an undefeated record of 49-0.More news: Ronaldo 'wants to leave' Real Madrid - where could he go?

Both Mayweather and McGregor made the official announcement Wednesday on social media.
Conor McGregor finally got his bout against Floyd Mayweather, but the question is whether he can succeed in the ring. It has also intrigued some in boxing, though most dismiss McGregor's chances under boxing rules against one of the greatest defensive fighters in history. It comes less than a month before Gennady Golovkin and Canelo Alvarez meet in a highly anticipated fight that could rival it for pay-per-view buys.
