Honor 8 Pro First Look

Huawei's sub-brand Honor unveiled their new smartphone Honor 8 Pro in India last week.

The company has not revealed the price of the smartphone.

Honor has a launch event scheduled for June 27, but it looks like we've already seen what the Chinese firm will announce after Amazon put up a comprehensive pre-order page detailing a number of specs. The smartphone is the successor to the company's previous Honor 8 device, which was launched in October past year. While the OnePlus 5 dual cameras go by the combination of a normal lens and a telephoto lens the way iPhone 7 Plus does, the Honor 8 Pro features one sensor which captures RGB color pictures while the other clicks monochrome images. The Honor 8 had a 5.2-inch screen, so perhaps Honor will round up here. The phone is powered by Octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 960 processor with 4 Cortex-A53 cores operating at 1.8 GHz and the remaining 4 Cortex-A73 cores operating at 2.4 GHz. But as per Amazon, the smartphone will be available for purchase on July 6, 2017, and it will be an Amazon exclusive. The major highlights of the smartphone are its 12MP+12MP rear camera setup, powerful 2.4GHz Kirin 960 processor, 6GB LPDDR4 RAM and a decent 4000mAh battery. The handset comes equipped with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.

In terms of connectivity, the Honor 8 Pro supports dual-SIM dual standby using the hybrid SIM configuration (nano-SIM + nano-SIM/microSD) slot. There's also a dual-camera module on the back, which boasts one 20-megapixel sensor and one 12-megapixel sensor. There's USB Type-C for charging and data syncing and a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner for security.

Honor 8 Pro has a mammoth 4000 mAh battery which should make it stand out from similarly priced devices where the battery isn't as large.
