Dan Harmon, Justin Roiland Having Difficulties Writing Script

An uninteresting reason for the delay followed by a vague release date of season three's remaining episodes may not be totally satisfying to fans, but hey, at least it's something, right?

Harmon ended his thread by praising his fandom, the metric of which he apparently measures by the number of people who say "I love that show" when they encounter him wearing his own merchandise.

The delay for the third season has gone on so long that co-creator Dan Harmon is now anxious that fans are speculating the Adult Swim's animated show won't be coming back at all. I want to explain "what happened" because it's way less dramatic than you might ever imagine.

"Anyway, season 3 is coming, we took too long writing it, they're finishing drawing it, it's coming, AS said summer, that's real, press covfe". "The reason S3 took long is because it took long to write, because it was S3 of a show that we were scared to make worse than S2 or S1".

"Rick and Morty" Season 3 is reportedly coming back in July 2017. It feels I think, to writers, sacreligious and ineffective to open the creative process and poke and label.

But it turns out that it might not take much longer. But don't worry about the content, because, the reason overthought slows you down is, you just do way more versions of stuff than needed. "Because it took long to write", sort of sums it up but hardly does justice to Harmon's storytelling skills. I'm talking about fights like 'what joke to do.' It's the statements back to back that's confusing: I was saying 'the buck stops with me and Justin.' It was our usual perfectionism, etc. "It's a common yet odd phenomenon", he continued, adding it was important to make the show better for the fans.

He also clarifies any rumors about him and co-creator Roiland fighting over the show, but Harmon says there's no behind-the-scenes drama going on. Although Dan Harmon's tweets didn't indicate a definite date for the rest of the season to air, fans can take his word that the creators will be delivering something schwifty this summer.

The upcoming season is expected to air sometime this year and may bring along Evil Morty. Sound off in the comments!
