Apple's new iMac computers get a big horsepower boost

The MacBook costs $1,299, while the 13-inch MacBook Pro costs $1,499. The bigger surface will fit a full-size on-screen keyboard and an attachable physical keyboard, though there's no touchpad.

Apple expect the new Mac Pro to ship in December.

The new processors aren't the only change Apple has planned for its notebooks.

The announcements will also feature a run down of the next generation of Apple's mobile operating system, iOS 11, as well as an upgrade for its macOS, watchOS and TV OS. Apple's other PCs are all getting speed and performance updates. iMac's are getting across-the-board speed improvements and more storage. True Tone dynamically adjusts the white balance of the display to match the light around you for a more natural and accurate viewing experience.

John Ternus, VP of hardware engineering, said the new iMac displays will be 43 percent brighter than previous models at 500 nits and be capable of showing one billion colors. There's also a 12-core GPU, promising 40% better graphics performance.

On the front of the 10.5 inch iPad Pro is a 7 megapixel FaceTime HD camera with HDR and the ability to record Full HD video in 1080p. Why Apple ignores the advancements in display size is unusual. Touch ID on iPad Pro is more responsive and gives users a simple and secure way to unlock iPad, keep personal information private within apps and approve purchases from the App Store, iTunes Store and iBooks Store. The base model includes a 5K Retina display, 8-core Xeon processor, Radeon Vega graphics, 32 GB ECC memory, a one terabyte SSD, and first time ever 10 Gb Ethernet connection. All of those upgrades are also included in the new versions of the iPad Pro 12.9in model.
