Authorities have released the name of a man who was killed when a tornado tore through a mobile home park in northwestern Wisconsin. The Storm Prediction Center, which specializes in forecasting and gathering data on tornadoes, says high winds during a tornado can rip a mobile home without a foundation from its moorings.
Chetek Mayor Jeff Martin tells KSTP-TV that numerous emergency vehicles have gone to the trailer park. The Barron County Boys & Girls Club is also accepting donations of toiletries, clothing and other items at its Lincoln Clubhouse in Rice Lake.
A mobile home is among one of the most unsafe places to be during a tornado. He said at least one child was among the injured.
Elk City Public Schools were canceled for Wednesday, the school system said in a statement.

Another fatality occurred when a suspected tornado hit Elk City, Oklahoma. He said that at least one person died as a result of the tornado, adding that those engaged in rescue and recovery operations were "still in a search pattern".
