Trump Claims Democrats No Longer Want Carter Page's Testimony

"So now it is reported that the Democrats, who have excoriated Carter Page about Russian Federation, don't want him to testify", Trump tweeted, referencing Page's claim that his testimony before the House Intelligence Committee has been postponed.

Page is an global businessman and energy consultant who became an unpaid adviser to Trump's campaign in late March 2016, joining a national security advisory group.

"When the falsified FISA warrants against me are eventually revealed, the extent of illegal false evidence will show that there was never any probable cause but rather vindictive personal attacks used to justify the Clinton-Obama-Comey regime's domestic political intelligence operation", Page told Breitbart.

The former oil industry consultant also was the subject of FBI monitoring during the campaign because the federal government had reason to believe Page was acting as a Russian agent, including contacts Page had with Russian intelligence operatives back in 2013 according to a report by the Washington Post.

In addition to the FBI investigation, Page had pledged to cooperate with congressional investigations into Russian interference in the 2016 election.

"Fox and Friends" had reported minutes earlier that Page sent a letter to the House Intelligence Committee chairman, Rep. Mike Conaway, and ranking member Rep. Adam Schiff on Monday, telling them he had learned from committee staff that his "previously scheduled appointment" to testify before the committee had been postponed.
