Sources Indicate Liverpool Are Closing In On £26m Deal For Gremio Forward

Liverpool are reportedly closing in on the €30m signing of Gremio and Brazil ace Luan this summer, as Jurgen Klopp eyes key additions to his squad.

Who is Jurgen Klopp tipped to sign this summer?

The attacker's current deal is due to expire next year and that has forced Gremio to open negotiations with a host of European clubs about a potential transfer.

Luan scored in both the quarter and semi-finals, and converted his penalty in the final which helped sink Germany.

Whether or not his arrival will have an impact on Philippe Coutinho's future remains to be seen, but that could also be a decisive factor moving forward as Liverpool continue to build on their Brazilian contingent with Roberto Firmino and Lucas Leiva also likely to welcome their compatriot with open arms.

Liverpool are close to striking a deal after agreeing to meet his £26 million valuation having made contact with the player's representatives in London in April, according to the Mirror.

Luan's business advisor Jair Peixoto and agent Gianni Losito both flew to London in April, where they spoke with Liverpool officials over a potential deal for their client and it appears the Reds' board have agreed to meet their valuation of the gold medal victor.

His versatile style means he could play in a number of different positions in Liverpool's system, which typically sees three forwards utilised.

The Gremio forward has scored six times in 15 appearances so far this season and has 43 goals in 174 games in total since becoming a Tricolor player in 2014.
