Arsene Wenger says his Arsenal side will deal with what happens after they took their chase for a top four spot in the Premier League to the final day with a 2-0 win over Sunderland at the Emirates Stadium this evening.
For Arsenal to avoid missing out on the Champions League for the first time in 20 years, they must beat Everton at home on Sunday, while hoping for a slip from either Liverpool or City.
Wenger lamented that the lower-table teams who are safe from relegation have often failed to challenge the top-six sides - comments that come after West Ham suffered a 4-0 loss against Liverpool on Sunday.
Pickford foiled Arsenal after that and while it was job done as they gained three points, they stay fifth and are still outsiders to finish in the top four.
"When you have a player like this in your team, to show the way we want to grow together, it is important and I think he has a lot of players behind him to keep him. I'm quite surprised", he said. "If you look at the number of points we can make it's one of the best in the last 10 years".
Wenger said a lack of Champions League involvement would not have any impact on the quality of players that Arsenal would be able to sign in the close season.
Arsene Wenger has blamed Arsenal's away record for their failure to match Chelsea in the Premier League title race. Even if you only had one per cent, you would have to play at totally 100 per cent.More news: Flynn Has Not Responded to Subpoena: Senate Intel Chair

"Once he is on the pitch and gets the ball, he always becomes a devil and forgets the pain".
"It's a Tuesday night against Sunderland, who everyone expects us to beat", Wenger said.
"That's an insult to footballers".
"The teams have too much pride, the players have too much pride, every game matters, whatever team you support or whoever you play for, you play for the jersey, and would hope every player would do that".
"We had a hard week playing Sunday, Wednesday and Saturday".
