NFL Draft Recap: Finding teams that improved by division

After giving up their fourth-round pick in the move to get tight end David Njoku in the first round, the Browns got back into the fourth-round by making a trade with the Broncos.

"I just have a natural ability to just take the ball away", Wilson said Saturday. The entire event will take place outdoors for the first time in the draft's 82-year history, with the draft picks being announced in front of the Philadelphia Museum of Art on the famous "Rocky" steps. That being said, here are a few reasons teams with a quarterback need and even teams without one should be willing to pull the trigger on day two or three. (Yes, the National Football League continues its slightly freaky tour of the draft, taking it from town to town and up and down the dial.) The full draft will take place from Thursday, April 27th through Saturday, April 29th. I was playing every play like it was my last.

Charlie Yook, the producer who oversees the draft for NFL Network, pointed out that the late rounds are still interesting because they might have real impact for teams down the line: Five-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady was drafted in the sixth round, after all.

In the 2017 case, because the cornerstone Bears piece is a quarterback who isn't slotted to start this season, and they do have a longer developmental gradient anyway, this draft may be harder to evaluate.

Gonzalez was the best kicker in the draft and should win the job over Cody Parkey, giving the Browns a consistent kicker who set the career mark for field goals made at ASU, while Dayes might have had the best vision in the running back class this year. While interest does not always mean results or completed trades as we see with these guys, it is not for lack of teams trying. You have to use those picks, though, and at first glance, he seems to have done very well there as well. Will it be a top-flight wide receiver like Clemson's Mike Davis, or running back like Florida State's Dalvin Cook to help quarterback Carson Wentz?

The Eagles went next and picked defensive end Derek Barnett.

Fittingly, it's a corner the Eagles could have used.

New York Jets: I'll talk about the Jets picks on "Day Three" with extreme caution, considering that after all this is still the New York Jets, but on paper, it's possible that the New York franchise found themselves an impressive group of new pieces. That is good for the teams drafting after the run on offensive players ended. What is bad is that teams didn't take those players until the middle of the first round.
