NBA Draft 2017: Should Celtics trade or keep No. 1 pick?

NBA Deputy Commissioner Mark Tatum, front left, shakes hands with Boston Celtics co-owner Wyc Grousbeck, right, after the Celtics won the first pick at the NBA basketball draft lottery Tuesday, May 16, 2017, in NY.

Lonzo Ball may decide to work out for only the Los Angeles Lakers during the lead up to the draft.

If any franchise could have used a frozen envelope draft lottery conspiracy to vault to the No. 1 pick, it would have been the Knicks, who suffered through another disappointing season and appear to be ready to move on from Carmelo Anthony, with questions about Kristaps Porzingis' future with the team lingering heading into the summer as well. "This team is a lot of fun to be around this year".

If the Celtics choose to hold on to that #1 pick it is widely believed they'll take University of Washington freshman guard Markelle Fultz at NBA Draft on June 22nd.

Owner Wyc Grousbeck was the lucky charm for a team that, despite its shamrock logo, hasn't had such good fortune in the lottery.

And the Lakers will get a chance to take one of them after beating the odds to move up in their first year with Hall of Famer Magic Johnson as their team president. Collins didn't start a game previous year for Gonzaga, but still averaged 10.0 points per game and won the Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Award, awarded to top center in men's college basketball. For all of these teams, they're now not only chasing Cleveland, but trying to keep pace with Boston as well. And now we squeeze in the lottery and win the pick.

I think we can all agree.

The Celtics will go from No. 1 seed to No. 1 pick after their 25 percent chance of winning came through Tuesday night.

While the Celtics got back: Gerald Wallace, Kris Humphries, MarShon Brooks, Kris Joseph, Keith Bogans, and the Nets 2014, 2016 AND 2018 first round picks, PLUS the ability to swap in 2017.

"And look what I leave behind for the Celts on my way out #1 pick", Pierce wrote on Twitter, following by some celebratory emojis.

The Philadelphia 76ers select third overall, which is considered the lowest spot Ball would be drafted.

The Knicks had been hoping to land one of the top three point guards, and Jackson reportedly had meetings with both Fultz and Fox at the NBA Combine last week.

The 2017 National Basketball Association draft lottery was held on Tuesday, which means we're that much closer to the National Basketball Association draft on June 22nd.

In fact, The Truth says the Celtics shouldn't draft anyone at all and should instead be looking to trade that coveted #1 overall pick for a proven All-Star like Jimmy Butler, Paul George or Gordon Hayward. "If you can get a really good guy with this pick, you've got him". Watching him, what he did this year - I really paid attention to the National Basketball Association this year because I'm about to go into this business - man, he's great.

"Sometimes you need to be patient".
