Manchester Shopping Center Evacuated After Monday's Terror Attack (PHOTO, VIDEO)


People leave the Arndale Centre as the shopping mall is evacuated in Manchester, northwest England on May 23, 2017 following a security alert the day after a deadly terror attack at the Manchester Arena.

Witnesses said people were running through nearby streets, shouting "run", The Independent reported.

Reports in the United Kingdom media said that a banging sound led to the police evacuating the centre as people present inside the shopping centre rushed out in panic.

"A man has been arrested at the Arndale Centre - This is not now believed to connected to last night's attacks", the police said on twitter.

With regards to last night's incident at the Manchester arena, we can confirm we have arrested a 23-year-old man in South Manchester.

A Google screeshot shows the location of Manchester Arndale, a shopping centre in the middle of Manchester.

A couple of hours after a devastating bomb blast rocked an Ariana Grande concert in which 22 people were killed and more than 50 were injured, the Arndale shopping center was evacuated.
